The Wine
Our Paradise Pinot Noir is a reserve wine made to reflect the best of the vintage, it is produced in limited quantities each vintage from a selection of barrels which we believe best represent that vintage.
The grapes for our 2019 Paradise (clones 5, 667, 777 and 115) were carefully hand harvested from Domain Road vineyard on 10th April 2019. The fruit was de-stemmed into stainless steel tanks and fermented with indigenous yeasts. After fermentation the wine was aged in French oak barriques for 15 months , of which 33% was new oak.
The 2019 vintage is deep ruby with garnet hues. The wine has fragrant aromas of ripe red cherry, plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, toffee, spice and violets on the nose. Complex, with good minerality, the palate delivers spice, blueberry and cherry. Bright, ripe acidity and a nice flow of tannins leads to a long red finish.
Food match: Beef, hare, rabbit, duck or lamb accompanied with root vegetables and a medley of herb sautéed mushrooms.

"Still developing, the 2019 vintage represents the 'best of the vineyard and the vintage'. Matured in French oak barrels (33% new). Deep ruby, it is fragrant and savoury, with concentrated complex flavours, well seasoned with nutty oak and buried tannins. Best drinking mid 2025+". Michael Cooper.
