Northern Visitors - 24 Feb 20
Graeme and Gillian recently had the pleasure of hosting a group of wine lovers from the UK. Merchant Vintners, our UK distributors, and representatives of a number of the wine retailers who stock our wines in the UK, visited Central Otago to experience our wines first hand! Central turned on a glorious week of summer weather for them (coming from the middle of the UK winter this was a treat!) and the group made the most of the opportunity to sample some of the best that Central has to offer in the way of wine, food and activities.
One of the highlights was a Degustation Lunch at the Bannockburn Hotel - 5 delicious courses matched with our wines. The group were treated to:
Smoked pastrami salad paired with 2017 Water Race Riesling
Calamari with pomodorini sauce and squid ink paired with 2019 Defiance Pinot Gris
Hot smoked eel with crab mayonnaise paired with 2018 Defiance Chardonnay
Roasted lamb shoulder with duck fat potatoes, roasted carrots and salsa verde paired with 2016 Paradise Pinot Noir
Crema catalan paired with 2019 Symposium
I think it fair to say that they went home well pleased with their time here.
