August update - 28 Aug 18

Been a busy few months here at Domain Road.  

We've gone through a cool first couple of months of winter (May and June) and now enjoying a very mild temperate end to the season.  Graeme was even out mowing the lawns at the cellar door late last week to keep things tidy!!  Three more days and we'll officially be into Spring!!

Fiona our viticulturist and her european crew are coming to the end of the pruning of the vines on both the Domain Road and Defiance vineyards.  Most of the vineyard has been pruned by just Fiona and Sebastian, showing plenty of dedication to each and every vine.

An exciting new wine for Domain Road is currently at the winery.  Some of this has spent some time in barrel, some in steel and now both components are back together…this delicious drop shall be bottled early November…Watch this space for the rest of the details :)

Two of our 2018 vintage wines released so far for tasting and sales - Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir Rosé are drinking amazingly.  Our visitors to the cellar door have been keenly taking advantage of these great wines being back for sale after both varietals were absent last vintage due to pre-sales.

We had the pleasure of hosting 15 sommeliers from all over Asia and Australia during the Central Otago Pinot Noir Ltd's E'Sensual event at the beginning of August.  What a fantastic group that experienced some the finest food, activities, and of course wine the region has to offer.  They continue to rave about the wonderful place we call home.  We look forward to see them all sometime again soon.

Graeme and Gillian will be representing Domain Road at both Auckland and Christchurch Pinot Palooza events.  These are great days out to go enjoy some Pinot Noir from all over New Zealand, Australia and Asia.   Plus a great chance to try some new unreleased vintages of our different Pinot Noir's and say a hello to Team Crosbie.
